Ne Plus Ultra is a Latin phrase, and it means ‘nothing further beyond‘.  It also means:

• the best, or most extreme example of something
• the highest point, as in excellence or achievement
• the ultimate
• the most profound degree, or condition

In antiquity, Ne Plus Ultra referred to the Pillars of Hercules, the promontories that flank the Straits of Gibraltar, which connect the Mediterranean Sea with the Atlantic Ocean.  A promontory is simply a land mass that overlooks lower-laying ground or a body of water.  This is why forts and castles were built on promontories, so that they were more easily defensible.  The Northern Pillar, or European Pillar is the legendary Rock of Gibraltar, and the Southern Pillar is Jebel Musa, on the North African side of the Straits.  In ancient times, it was thought that one could not go any further than the Pillars of Hercules; that there was ‘nothing more beyond’.  It was a warning to sailors and others that, if they ventures further than the Pillars, they were entering the Realm of the Unknown, that there was, indeed, nothing  further beyond and therefore to be avoided, at all costs!

Two pillars with the words nec plus ultra inscribed on them was a warning that one could go no further.  Many people believe that the origin of the dollar sign comes from this iconography!

The Spanish dollar, from which our dollar was derived, has on it’s reverse the two pillars, draped with the slogan nec plus ultra!  The two vertical lines on the dollar sign represent the Pillars of Hercules, and the ‘s’ represents the draped motto!  The origin of our dollar sign may even go back to to Solomon’s Temple!  Fascinating, isn’t it!

I love the fact that I decided to name the system that I believe will enable people to maximally-optimize their knowledge, talents, and resourses after the phrase which many believe is the origin for our dollar sign!  What a symbol!  What an amazing connection!  There is more that synchronicity involved here; nothing less than serendipity, in it’s purest form!

With the Plus Ultra System, I truly do believe….in fact, know, that with a deeper and more realistic understanding of what is truly required to achieve maximum, optimal success, the odds of achieving the degree of success that we truly desire for ourselves, not only comes into clearer focus, but becomes truly attainable!
